ARE CARNIVAL SHIPS “PARTY SHIPS?”
Published Thursday, April 24th 2025 - Updated Thursday, April 24th 2025Rumor has it…
Rumors are one thing, facts are another. Before I start with the facts, I need to be honest and admit that I don’t have any first-hand experience on a Carnival ship. However, I am close to people who have (Baby Boomer, GenX, and Millennial) and I have permission to share their experiences. These are in no particular order or from a particular person.
“I did not in any way feel that the Sunshine was a party ship. I think some of that reputation comes from…often music playing on the Lido deck.” She also said the Disney Magic was docked near them and that was quieter because they were showing a movie instead of playing music. It was a spring break on this particular cruise, and there were 1300 kids on her ship. She spent a lot of time in “adult only” areas which were much quieter.
This friend, Kelly, also gave me permission to post a picture from her cruise. I had always heard about the towel art, but as you can see, they graced the entire pool area one morning! I was so impressed.
From the Millennial, there was much fun to be had in the water park. My Baby Boomer said her husband wasn’t much for sitting around, but she made new friends down by the pool and met them there every day.
Everyone I interviewed had a wonderful time on the Carnival ship they cruised, and specifically mentioned the service was great. For the price, Carnival is a great value to “get your feet wet” (in more ways than one) on cruising. With the Carnival Sunshine embarking right out of Norfolk, there are no travel worries, no pre- or post-night stays. Just an hour or two from the terminal.
Be sure to check out our group rates on the Carnival Sunshine out of Norfolk to Canada and New England in October of 2026. As this is touring fall foliage and not “beachy,” the clientele should be calm, and it should be a relaxing seven days on the Atlantic.\
